Project Scope
New Built & Interior Design
Designed for a collector of Chinese paintings, the house design is based on the principles of a Suzhou classical garden where each space celebrates a different aspect of the landscape, inviting one to linger and appreciate the dialogue between the internal and external space.
Upon entry, one enters at lower ground where heavy stone walls separate the carparking area from the garden and allows the view of the services to be completely concealed from the living spaces. The building is separated into the main block with an annex block with the garden meandering in between. Shared facilities such as the kitchen, dining and service areas are housed in the main block.
